!! This 1930 US admonition alludes to gambling, particularly poker or horse racing, where a gambler should put up the money or shut up about his predictions of what would win.

這則一九三○年美國的告誡暗指賭博，尤其是撲克或賽馬，賭徒應該把錢投入其中，否則就閉口，不要妄加預測誰會贏。

!! It has been broadened to include any kind of action, such as giving business or investment advice. It is also found in jocular forms with variants in place of “mouth,” such as philosophy, belief, mission, etc.
