!! The term “brown nose” came from the U.S. military in the late 1930s, where it meant“to curry favor.” It alludes to ass-kissing where the place being kissed is often brown in color. Despite its somewhat obscene connotation, this slang is not considered particularly vulgar today.

拍馬屁這個詞來自一九三○年代末的美國軍隊，意思是“討好”。暗指接吻屁股，被吻的地方通常是棕色的。儘管它有一些淫穢的含義，但這個俚語在今天並不被認為是特別粗俗。
