Pull a Rabbit Out of a Hat——
** accomplish something surprising or unexpected(做出令人驚訝或意想不到的事情)// find a solution for a difficulty that seemed insurmountable(找到一個難以克服難題的解決方案)// get magical results(獲得神奇的結果)
~~ do something as if by magic; do something unexpected; do something unorthodox; do something surprising; cut the Gordian knot; think outside the box
!! The metaphor comes from an old trick of the magician of pulling a rabbit or some unexpected objects (e.g., a cottage into a castle) out of a hat he has made the audience believe is empty. But, in fact the rabbit or object is hidden in a compartment in the hat.
>> Nobody knew how the hostile takeover attempt would end, but then our CEO pulled a rabbit out of his hat, and nipped it in the bud.
>> As much as I would like to be able to pull a rabbit out of a hat to help on your dilemma of a decision between expansion and consolidation, but I don’t know your business environment enough.
