Safety In Numbers——

Safety In Numbers——

** group protection theory: said to emphasize that being part of a group makes you less likely to be harmed(群體保護理論:據說成為群體一部分會使你不太容易受到傷害)

** it is safer to belong to a group than going it alone

~~ one can never get far on one's own // one cannot conquer alone // one man does not make a team

!! The proverb could have come by observing schools of fish, flocks of birds, or herds of animals. More advantages are to be gained by being in a group than by "going it alone." A group of one hundred animals has two hundred eyes and one hundred noses detecting predators. A group is sometimes seen by predators as a large single organism rather than as individuals.

>> Since the company has not raised salaries for five consecutive years, we decided to go to see the boss together - safety in numbers.

>> On an Africa safari trip, the leader constantly reminded us to keep close together, for there is safety in numbers.
