!! The hyperbole alludes to a murderer caught so soon that his hands are still smeared with his victim’s blood. It originally referred only to that crime. Later, it was extended to mean apprehending someone in the course of committing a crime, misdeed, offense, or any wrongdoing.

(這誇張說法暗示一個殺人犯很快被捕,以至於他的手上仍然沾滿了受害者的鮮血。它最初僅指該罪行。後來,它的意思被擴展到犯罪、不端行為、冒犯或任何不法行為的過程中逮捕某人。)
